Summary

Eight volunteers participated in the April 12, 2026 workday. Their safe, organized effort demonstrated that a committed group of neighbors could complete a practical improvement at a prominent shared location.

Partners and Continuing Care

The project was assisted by the office of Fairfax County Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck. Clean Fairfax provided cleanup supplies, and the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services authorized disposal of collected material at the Fairfax landfill.

Beautify Lorton continues to monitor the median. John Rand and Tim Rizer have provided follow-up care by treating invasive weeds at the site.
